Later, after being offered a like position with Mission Funeral Home in Menard, I moved 70 miles west. When the owner decided to retire and asked if I wanted to assume ownership, my wife and I accepted. That was in 1975. Nine years later we founded Heritage Funeral Home in Brady, 34 miles to the northeast. So we’ve come almost full circle. Today I’m pleased to say that we are still family-owned and operated.
